Position Description:

Works closely with Transport Co-Ordinator, Co-ordination Team and Despatch Team.

 

The Person:

The job holder must be efficient, self-motivated, organised, and a good communicator with excellent IT skills.

 

Qualifications And Experience:

· A minimum of 5 GSCE grades A* – C/ 9-4 or equivalent qualifications including mathematics, English, and a science or their equivalent

 

Responsibilities to include:

· Facilitates the shipping of products from one destination to another.

· Facilitating in the planning of delivery schedules by liaising with the Co-ordination team to batch delivery areas together and assist in reducing carbon emissions and additional transport costs.

· Arranges transportation with sub-contract Logistic Companies.

· Orchestrates deliveries to meet customer demand in line with co-ordination team’s instruction with little to no delay.

· Receives Bundled Spec Sheets, Picking Dockets and Products in order to pull Despatch Dockets to co-ordinate deliveries.

· Prepares paperwork for shipments.

· To manage activities throughout the order fulfilment and transportation cycle to make sure established deadlines are met.

· Review freight cost and transportation rates in order to keep costs down and highlight areas of concern for ensuring correct freight costs are used.

· Pulling together of export specifications checking vital information i.e. dims, weights, bundling etc.

· Assist Despatch Team with specified loading of product.

· Develop a simplified way of recording shipment details daily ensuring traceability of loads are known.

· Liaise with Co-ordination Team providing feedback on any issues found.

· Ensures all deliveries/pick-ups are done efficiently and specific customer requests or concerns are communicated.

· Provide updates on delivery enquiries and changes.

· Act as liaison between Internal Staff and transport company.

· Other transportation activities as required by the needs of the company and customer base.

· Taking and documenting visuals as packed/loaded by job reference.

 

 

Position: Apprenticeship 36-42 Months

Hours of work: Monday- Thursday 9.00am -17.00pm, Friday 8.00am – 2.00pm

Salary: NMW for age + £1.00

Holidays: Full time – 25 days per year (Holiday year Jan – Dec) + 8 Bank holidays, Pro rata for part time.

Life Insurance: 3 times basic salary whilst in employment

Pension Scheme: Automatic enrolment 5% Employee, 3% Employer. After 1 year in April – Age related up to max 6.5%
