Lionweld Kennedy are “over the moon” to be crowned ‘Tees Business of the Year’ at the 2024 Tees Business Awards!

The Tees Business Awards recognise and celebrate businesses and individuals from across the Tees Valley region, with the largest award of the night being the prestigious ‘Tees Business of the Year’ award. Lionweld Kennedy have been established in Middlesbrough for 115 years, investing over £2m into our people, plant, and processes to year on year increase our profit.

Working with the local community including local schools and Teesside University, Lionweld Kennedy provide opportunities for our region through work experience, apprenticeships and KTP projects to support the younger generation.

David Robinson, Lionweld Kennedy’s Managing Director, said he was “really pleased and very surprised” to win the Tees Business of the Year award. Looking forward to the future of Lionweld Kennedy, David said “The company started in 1910, but we’ve done quite a bit in recent years, with a lot of innovation and investment. We’ve invested in apprentices and are doing a lot on the ESG sustainability side – we’re going in the right direction.”

“It’s been a Teesside business for a long time, but we’ve never really shouted about it in the past. In the last few years, though, we’ve started to invest and tell people about what we do. Winning this is recognition of the hard work – but it’s not about me, it’s about the people, our employees all the way through the business.”
