Position Description:
- Manage the Transport, Despatch, and Stock Holding Functions
Qualifications And Experience:
- Experience in a Warehousing role
- Experience in transport and logistics
- Experience with ERP systems
- CILT level 3 or above advantageous
Responsibilities to include:
- Lead and manage the Transport and Despatch teams to ensure efficient, on-time deliveries
- Lead and manage the stock control operatives to ensure stock management is effective and controlled
- Ensure the despatch operators training is up-to-date and they are working to the required safety standards
- Liaise with Production to support and manage stock levels
- Build and maintain relationships with sub-contract Logistic Companies, negotiating terms and optimizing service levels
- Oversee delivery planning and documentation processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with customer demands
- Analyse and control freight costs, identifying savings opportunities and addressing cost concerns
- Ensure accurate export specifications and compliance with regulatory and company standards
- Supervise and support Despatch Team operations, including proper loading and delivery preparation
- Maintain delivery traceability by overseeing daily recording and reporting of delivery details
- Address operational challenges, provide feedback, and implement process improvements for efficiency
- Act as the primary liaison between staff, customers, and transport providers to resolve escalated issues
- Continuously improve transportation processes to align with business goals and customer expectations
- To ensure that all despatch requirements are understood are delivered in-line with the plan and customer requirements
- To ensure the despatch control systems are maintained, developed and effectively used
- To work closely with Production Managers and Team Leaders to identify urgent business requirements
- Responsibility for the despatch yard and areas
- To manage equipment, people and resources in the despatch yard to maximise up-time in the most cost-effective manner
- Maintain the SAP ERP system for stock and deliveries and produce reports to indicate on-time and late deliveries
Position: Full Time with an immediate start
Hours of work: Mon- Thursday 8:00am – 4:00pm, Friday 8:00am – 2:00pm
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
Holidays: Full time – 25 days per year (Holiday year Jan – Dec) + 8 Bank holidays, Pro rata for part time.
Life Insurance: 3 times basic salary whilst in employment
Pension Scheme: Automatic enrolment if meet criteria, 5% Employee, 3% Employer. After 1 year in April – Age related up to max 6.5%.
