Position Description:
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all the plant, equipment and building facilities at the Marsh Road site. As a mechanical and electrical engineer working as a team to ensure maximum equipment availability. This responsibility includes the planning, prioritisation, co-ordination, and action of all tasks required for the repair and maintenance of equipment in terms of costs, quality, time management in a safe environment.
Qualifications And Experience:
- Hold a minimum ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical and/or Mechanical engineering.
- Ideal candidates will have come from a manufacturing, maintenance or Engineering background and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
Responsibilities to include:
- To perform craft maintenance tasks in accordance with job instructions and all general maintenance on site.
- Respond to breakdowns.
- Responsible for diagnosing and repairing all faults on electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Ensure that objectives are achieved in an effective and safe manner.
- To follow both written and verbal instructions explicitly to ensure the safe completion of allocated tasks.
- Duties will include the maintenance of factory equipment to include CNC machinery.
- A knowledge of welding and fabricating techniques would be useful.
- Promote equipment improvement and efficiency savings.
- Machining experience requirements include cutting, milling, turning, surface grinding and general workshop machine tools.
- Duties will include day-to-day mechanical fault-finding and rectification, planned preventative. maintenance activities, process improvements and update associated documentation.
- Be familiar with Lean Manufacturing techniques, 5S, 8D, PDCA.
- Have completed a time served Apprenticeship with machine tool experience in a mechanical and/or electrical environment.
- Demonstrate hands on ability in hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical diagnostics.
Position: Full Time with an immediate start
Hours of work: Monday – Thursday 7.30am to 16.00pm
Friday 7.30am to 15.00pm
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
Holidays: Full time – 25 days per year (Holiday year Jan – Dec) + 8 Bank holidays, Pro rata for part time.
Life Insurance: 3 times basic salary whilst in employment
