Position Description:

The Production Manager is responsible for the production process, ensuring that goods are produced safely, to the required quality, cost-effectively, and on time.

Qualifications And Experience:

  • Excellent ability to understand various production processes
  • The ability to implement processes and improvements
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in scheduling, 5S and Lean principles
  • Experience in MRP systems

Responsibilities to include: 

  • Implementing, maintain and improving safety, health, environment and quality requirements
  • Overseeing manufacturing and production processes
  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve production rate & efficiency, striving to reduce cost and increase productivity across all product lines
  • Implementing, maintaining and analysing key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive improvement
  • Organising weekly meetings with the management team to ensure order priorities are understood and agreed, & to identify any issues that may arise
  • Planning and managing production workflow to ensure order schedules are met
  • Liaising with purchasing team to ensure that all necessary materials are in stock
  • Assessing labour shortfalls and assisting with new employees
  • Use of MRP system to ensure required stock levels of completed product are maintained
  • Creating and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules
  • Implement and maintain Lean processes and practices in factory
  • Implement and maintain 5S processes and standards in factory
  • Supporting project and sales teams with estimates and tenders (capabilities & timescales)
  • Analyse opportunities and implement waste reduction in factory
  • Supporting engineering team with PPM activities and requirements
  • Ensuring all the company’s procedures and policies are followed
  • Communicating any problems or obstacles to senior management
  • Monitoring productivity rates, standards and quality control
  • Training and coaching Operators in their role and responsibilities

Position: Full Time with an immediate start

Hours of work: Mon- Thursday 7.30am – 4pm, Friday 6am – 1.15pm

Salary:  Negotiable depending on experience

Holidays: Full time – 25 days per year (Holiday year Jan – Dec) + 8 Bank holidays, Pro rata for part time.

Life Insurance: 3 times basic salary whilst in employment

Pension Scheme: Automatic enrolment if meet criteria, 5% Employee, 3% Employer. After 1 year in April – Age related up to max 6.5%.
